Library

March 25, 2007

West High Library is open from 7:35 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Monday-Thursday, including lunch.  The library will be closed at lunch and after school on Fridays.  On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays after school, the Tutorial Center is held in the library and it is open until 4 p.m.  Students are welcome to study and computers are available for research.

Teachers may sign up to bring their classes to the library for research.  Individual students must have passes signed by a teacher when they are sent to the library from a class, but classes signed up to use the library have first priority for the computers.

Library books may be checked out for a three-week period and may be renewed providing there is not a request for the book.  Books classified as reference and periodicals may not be taken from the library.  Books not returned on time will be subject to a fine.  Students need their I.D. card to check out books.

Because the library is a place for research and reading, students work independently and quietly.  Eating and other unsuitable behavior will result in the student being asked to leave.  Computers are for research and word processing, and not for personal e-mail, chat rooms, or games, etc.  Students are asked to print only what they absolutely need for class.
