Candle Light Vigil

by Karen McKelvey

May 02, 2008

In Quad 5 on Wednesday evening, May 7, at 6:45 pm, West High will come together and share our love for Ms. Crine.  If you would like to speak at this event, please come to the Business Office and see Julia to sign up.  We will be sharing stories and special memories about Ms. Crine.  Immediately following we will hold a candlelight vigil.

The following message was read to all classes this morning during 1st period.

“As some of you may already know and for those of you who do not, one of our teachers, Ms. Crine, has passed away. The faculty and staff were notified of her death yesterday after school, and many are feeling shocked, like you, about this tragic news. We don’t know much about how she died, but our sadness remains great because we have lost someone from our West High family.

If any of you finds yourself in need of someone to talk to, or wants an opportunity to speak with a counselor in a group or privately, all of our counselors will be in the library for the entire day for anyone who needs to talk or express their sadness. Please ask any one of your teachers throughout the day, and they will allow you to go to the library.

I know this will be a difficult time, but we will get through it together.”

Grief counselor’s are on campus today and for as much of next week as needed to provide support for students, faculty and staff.

Please encourage your student to seek these counseling services if necessary.

STAR testing calendar has been modified.  Please see new schedule.
