Graduation Requirements

Each student shall maintain a satisfactory citizenship record with six or more semesters of composite satisfactory or excel lent citizenship grades required for graduation.
- Each student will have a minimum of 220 credits for graduation.

- Each student shall obtain as follows:
- Mathematics — 20 credits.
- Science — 20 credits
10 credits in biological science and 10 in physical science.
- English — 40 credits (Speech, Journalism, Creative Writing or
ELD support classes are not allowed as part of English
requirements, but may be taken as part of the elective credit
requirement).
- Social Studies — 30 credits.
World History A/B — 10 credits; U.S. History A/B — 10 credits; Government — 5 credits; Economics — 5 credits.
- Health — 5 credits
- Physical Education —20 credits (required in grades 9 and
10)
- Visual and Performing Arts or Foreign Language — 10 credits
- Mathematics — 20 credits.
- Limitations on credit counting toward graduation:
Aides — 10 credits only
Work Experience — 20 credits only
Physical Education —40 credits only of regular PE - A high school diploma shall be granted to any student who satisfactorily completes the regular high school curriculum requirements of the district, meets the citizenship requirements, and passed the CHSEE (California High School Exit Exam). No student will be allowed to participate in commencement exercises unless all graduation requirements are met including passing the California High School Exit Exam.
