Counselor's Corner: College Information

College Information

May 23, 2007

WEST HIGH SCHOOL CEEB CODE: 053521

You can get your STATE ID number from the Counseling Office.  This is a 10 digit number (not your Social Security number) that is used to apply to various colleges.

UC a-g Requirements

For an overview of courses that meet requirements for UC and Cal State entrance, including a guide that will denote which courses are approved for weighted calculations

go to: UC a-g list

For UC and Cal State applications, a maximum of 8 extra points (4 classes) can be used towards a weighted GPA.  These courses can only be from 10th and 11th grade, with a maximum of two 10th grade honors courses.

Many college admissions representatives visit West High to meet with interested students.  These sessions usually last an hour, and are held in the Career Center, thus allowing you an opportunity to learn more about the college, their admissions policies, and what they have to offer students.  If you would like to attend a college speaker visit, you must sign up 24 hours ahead of time in the counseling office.  You will then be given a pass.  You must have your teacher’s permission to attend, and attendance will be taken.  COLLEGE REPRESENTATIVE CAMPUS VISITS - CURRENT CALENDAR
